Born on the 1 ih February, 1 962 to Alhaji
Umar at Masari in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, Alh.
Batura began his education career at Kafur
Primary School between 1 968-1975 and passed out with First Leaving
OutCertificate thereafter he proceeded to Government Secondary School
Malumfashi and passed out with good (WAEC) certificate between 1 975-
1980.
Alh. Bature continued in his desire to
acquire more education, and proceeded to (ICAS) the then Katsina
College of Arts, Science and Technology Zaria between 1 980-1 981 for
remedial programme studies, and completed with a good result, and
thereafter, he gained admission into the same institution for his
interim joint Matriculation examination (lJMB) between 1 981-1983.
The young Bature, because of requirements,
he gained admis Bayero University Kan• (BUK) and Mass Communication
between 1 and graduated with Second Class Lower Division. his good

After his graduation, Bature was posted to
Ogun State for his mandatory 1 year National Youths Service Scheme and
was deployed to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Abeokuta for his
primary assignment.
Alh. Batura began his working career from
1 987-1 989 with Democrat Newspapers,
Kaduna as a reporter after which he joined
the Katsina State Radio and Television and worked there between
October 1 989 - December 1 989 as a News Editor.
He later re-joined the Democrat Newspapers
and worked for 1 year between 989-1 990.’He left and joined the
Nigeria Customs Service as Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASCI).
He served, in Kaduna, Port-Harcourt, Adamawa.,and Gombe Area Commands
between 1 990-1 999.
Alh. Bature resigned from the Nigeria
Customs Service, and joined politics En 1 999. Before then Alh. Bature
was a correspondent with This Day Newspaper in Abuja where he served
as its political correspondent covering House of Representative and
later the Senate.
Hon. Bature Umar Mäsari was appointed
Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties Protocol) to Rt. Hon. Aminu
Bello Masari, Speaker House of Representative of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria between 2003-2004.
Between November 4th 2004 - December 1 0th
2005, Alh. Bature was appointed Chairman Caretaker Committee, when the
Council’s were dissolved in Katsina State. His resigned the post of
Chairman Caretaker Committee, and contested for the Chairmanship post
of Kafur Local Government, when elections were conducted in December 1
8th 2004 he won under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Alh. Bature had widely traveled around the world, which includes Saudi
Arabia, Morocco, Libya, South Africa, Benin Republic, France, United
Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Swaziland and Kenya. His hobbies
include Football, Farming and Traveling. He is married with six
children (Five males and one female).
